BRING THE HEAT update!
Hey Developers,
I'm Cal, I'm the FLIR developer relations manager and I'm "hosting" this online Hackathon. There are two more months to go ... two more months to create something really cool, test it, and submit it for a shot at the $10k USD cash prize!! If you haven't been there already, check out developer.flir.com for tools and resources to help you along the way. You can also check out our "Past Events" section to see what's been done in other events and you can search devpost for our recent London, San Francisco, and Mountain View events to see which projects won the prizes. It's been an absolute BLAST getting to know the great people in those communities, and I'm personally looking forward to our Hacker and Maker Challenge in Hong Kong later this month!
So one really hot topic that's come up repeatedly is that many of you will need access to hardware to test your apps beyond what you can do with the simulators. The two obvious ways are to either join us at one of our in-person events (Hong Kong, anyone?) or to purchase a FLIR ONE for yourself. I'm aware that HK isn't convenient for most of you and that there's a shipment backlong delaying access via the second option, so I wanted to let you know that I have a very small pool of demo units that I can lend out for testing purposes. A few things: 1.) to get access to a loaner you have to have registered your project on DevPost (don't worry, the gallery is OFF), 2.) you can only keep them for 3 days and then I need you to return them so others can use them, 3.) you can request one by emailing me at cal.loo@flir.com and I'll shoot you out a loaner agreement to fill out.
I'm SUPER excited to see what you guys come up with!
Happy developing,
Cal
